New Features


Calendar Integration with Unmodified Mail files
“Low Level” Calendar Integration with standard Notes mail files. This refers to AFN Activities & Notes Mail Appointments. New and edited ACT! for Notes Activities are automatically “pushed” to your unmodified mail file. Appointments in your Notes Mail DB can be manually “pulled” into AFN.

Bring Email from Unmodified Mail files
“Pull” Lotus Notes Mail from your Notes mail file into ACT! for Notes without the need to upgrade to the ACT! for Notes Mail Template.

“Opt Out” of Mass Communication
A Contact will sometimes request that no further correspondence be sent. With the "Opt Out" feature, you can specify which types of Mass Communications/Correspondence not to send. The system will also keep track of User attempts to send “opt out” communications.

Automatic Email Signatures
An ACT! for Notes User's signature block can be automatically inserted into an ACT! for Notes Email, based on a setting in that User's USER document.

Automatic Email Spell Checking
A setting in the User's USER document enables spell-check for outgoing Email.

Optionally Restrict Creation of Contact Document
A database-wide option in the Preferences Document allows you to specify that ACT! for Notes Users will onlybe able to create a Contact document based on a Company document (i.e., "Stand-alone" Contact documents will not be allowed).

Create an Activity from within the Calendar View
An AFN user can create an Activity document directly from the calendar view.

Clean Up Unlinked Contacts
A quick way to find Contacts that are not linked to a Company document and optionally remedy them.

Resolve Duplicate Contact or Company Docs and Associate Response Docs
A User can select one or more duplicate Contacts or Companies and declare a “winner”. The response docs of the “losing” doc(s) are associated with the “winning” Contact or Company doc. The “losing” Contacts or Company docs are deleted.

Notes 8 Compatible
Various Notes 8 and 8.5 design and behavior change caused incompaibilites resolved (Advanced Features Version 3.0.3)

You can use one copy of ACT! for Notes as "Leads" database and use this feature to copy a Contact to another ACT! for Notes "Customer" database.

Duplicate Checking when creating a new Contact or Company
This optional feature will tell you when there appears that a contact or company document already exists for the new contact or company you are creating.

Reformat Phone Numbers
Change phone number format for one or more Contact or Company documents. Specify the phone format via a Preferences document setting; programming is not required. Great for handling different formats from imported Contacts.
